A Chicken without a head!

Wow... where did the days go? It seems like just a few days ago we had months to get ready for our trip and here we are leaving a few days!! I'm really trying to get organized and get everything that can be done before the last minute! Brenden is so excited to travel.. he loves flying! Unfortunately he's going to miss his first baseball game and his track/field day. We are hoping that it gets rained out and rescheduled so he can participate!
Traveling with a baby is something else! I feel like we are packing everything he owns! I hope he does well on the plane.. there is nothing worse than a screaming baby on a place especially if it's mine! We fly late in the evening on the way there so fingers crossed he sleeps through most of it!
Doug's brother and sister in law are planning a short visit. They will be here on Monday and will be leaving Wednesday morning before we leave for the airport. So on top of getting ready to leave we are getting ready for company! It's almost a good thing that we are both home because I am really liking the help!

The start of something....

Hey it's us..the Beer family (McDowell too!) We have so many things we want to share with you that I decided we needed to start a blog! Thanks to a little bird named Beckii I found a place to start!

We have a full house here in Martinsburg Nebraska.. lets catch you up to speed on the family!

For starters there is me (Mandy) and the man of the house Doug. We have been married since November 20, 2006. We live in a really small town called Martinsburg where the claim to fame is Bob's Bar serving the biggest and cheapest burgers around!

Brenden is the big brother. He's 9 going on 15! He has a passion for sports of any and all kinds! Right now he is playing soccer and baseball but also plays basketball and football. He's learning to golf and is always looking for something new to try! He's also a big fan of the WWE and insists that we watch it every Monday and Friday night! He is in the 3rd grade at Ponca and gets great grades and very rarely gets in any trouble (talking seems to be the worst of it!)

Carson is the newest addition to the family! He was born December 14th 2007..6lbs 13 oz and 19 1/2 inches long..not to shabby for being almost a month early! Now at 4 1/2 months he's a healthy and happy little boy at 13 lbs 12 oz and 24 inches long. These days he enjoys bottles, teething rings, being held, drooling and giggling at almost anything. He really dislikes green beans and naps! He learned to roll over less than a week ago and is trying really hard to get his first teeth!

Last but not least are the animals of the house. Chewy our "big" dog.. he's a mutt but a really cute one! Roxy is the little terror. They enjoy pretending not to get along. Chewy loves to hide bones from Roxie but he always forgets where he hid them!

So thats us in a nut shell.. now that you have "caught up" lets keep you there! As fun and exciting things occur I'll post them so you can see whats new with us! We are off to the lovely state of Washington is less than a week.. can't wait!
