12 weeks and counting!

pregnancy calendar

I used this ticker when I was pregnant with Carson except I used the "development" version. This time around I decided to use the funny version knowing that sometimes I really need a laugh!

Follow along with us if you want, and if you have nothing better to do! We have another appointment tomorrow, with another ultrasound so I will be posting new pictures!

It's 2009... already??

Wow... what a past few months it has been! I have failed in epic size with this blogging thing, but our lives have proven to be more hectic then anyone could have imagined!

We celebrated Thanksgiving with the whole Beer family... 16 of us in one house! It was so wonderful to be surrounded with family! It was Carson's 2nd car trip and the first time he actually made it quite clear that he is not a fan! His first trip was at 8 weeks, so he spent most of it sleeping. Doug's sister Emily was a gracious and in my opinion somewhat insane host, opening her home to all of us for the weekend! Because I'm me, I was also excited to do a little "day after Thanksgiving" shopping in the Denver area. What a crazy crowd! Emily's community also has a great rec center that has a huge pool, climbing wall. and tons of other activities! Brenden had tons of fun and proved to still be a quick little monkey, scaling almost every level of the wall with ease and determination! Thank you Emily for such a great Thanksgiving!

Shortly after returning from Denver, Carson celebrated his 1st birthday! It still blows my mind that a year has passed so quickly! The weather was horrible that day but all of his family braved the snow and wind to come over and celebrate. Grandpa and Grandma Beer came all the way from Chicago for his milestone! Everyone ate pizza, cake and ice cream and enjoyed Carson's entertaining personality! Even with the weather it proved to be a great day!

Less than 2 weeks later it was Christmas!! I somehow managed to get the tree up and decorated but I will admit that I took the easy way out and put up only the small simple tree. Doug still has hopes of 2 trees.. I guess some people have a lot of hopes! Christmas was fun. Carson really got into the idea of unwrapping everything, including presents that weren't his! Christmas Eve, my mom, Gene, and my grandma came over for snacks and one on one time with the kids. It's really nice to have a quiet before the storm! Christmas morning Brenden was up early excited to see what Santa had brought him. Carson was up early as well, but thats pretty normal for him! We opened gifts and then headed to my mom and Gene's for the annual Watchorn family dinner! Stuffing yourself is truly the best part of Christmas!

Just when you think it's been busy enough in our lives (and when I am in zombie mode), theres always one more thing. In our cases.. it was a HUGE thing and a very unexpected one too!

Sometime after Christmas and before New Years, we learned that we are expecting baby #3!!! !
Life is about to get a whole lot busier! Baby Beer is due sometime in late August. We will let you know when we find out if we need to shop for pink or blue!

A Chicken without a head!

Wow... where did the days go? It seems like just a few days ago we had months to get ready for our trip and here we are leaving a few days!! I'm really trying to get organized and get everything that can be done before the last minute! Brenden is so excited to travel.. he loves flying! Unfortunately he's going to miss his first baseball game and his track/field day. We are hoping that it gets rained out and rescheduled so he can participate!
Traveling with a baby is something else! I feel like we are packing everything he owns! I hope he does well on the plane.. there is nothing worse than a screaming baby on a place especially if it's mine! We fly late in the evening on the way there so fingers crossed he sleeps through most of it!
Doug's brother and sister in law are planning a short visit. They will be here on Monday and will be leaving Wednesday morning before we leave for the airport. So on top of getting ready to leave we are getting ready for company! It's almost a good thing that we are both home because I am really liking the help!

The start of something....

Hey it's us..the Beer family (McDowell too!) We have so many things we want to share with you that I decided we needed to start a blog! Thanks to a little bird named Beckii I found a place to start!

We have a full house here in Martinsburg Nebraska.. lets catch you up to speed on the family!

For starters there is me (Mandy) and the man of the house Doug. We have been married since November 20, 2006. We live in a really small town called Martinsburg where the claim to fame is Bob's Bar serving the biggest and cheapest burgers around!

Brenden is the big brother. He's 9 going on 15! He has a passion for sports of any and all kinds! Right now he is playing soccer and baseball but also plays basketball and football. He's learning to golf and is always looking for something new to try! He's also a big fan of the WWE and insists that we watch it every Monday and Friday night! He is in the 3rd grade at Ponca and gets great grades and very rarely gets in any trouble (talking seems to be the worst of it!)

Carson is the newest addition to the family! He was born December 14th 2007..6lbs 13 oz and 19 1/2 inches long..not to shabby for being almost a month early! Now at 4 1/2 months he's a healthy and happy little boy at 13 lbs 12 oz and 24 inches long. These days he enjoys bottles, teething rings, being held, drooling and giggling at almost anything. He really dislikes green beans and naps! He learned to roll over less than a week ago and is trying really hard to get his first teeth!

Last but not least are the animals of the house. Chewy our "big" dog.. he's a mutt but a really cute one! Roxy is the little terror. They enjoy pretending not to get along. Chewy loves to hide bones from Roxie but he always forgets where he hid them!

So thats us in a nut shell.. now that you have "caught up" lets keep you there! As fun and exciting things occur I'll post them so you can see whats new with us! We are off to the lovely state of Washington is less than a week.. can't wait!
